Strategy Thoughts
This is an alliance versus alliance event that takes place on a separate battlefield. The winning alliance is the one that collects the most points from holding buildings. The battle period is 90 minutes. There are two different opening times for the buildings. Those on either the right or left of the field open at the start of the battle. Those in the middle open after an additional 3 minutes.
There is a 3 minute countdown before the building is considered to be completely held by the alliance. The alliance “holds” the building by being the most recent one to have attacked and won. Troops do not need to be in the building to score points, but should be placed for defense.
The buildings start out empty. If the building is empty you can win by attacking with 1 troop. Only the initial attacking alliance member can place a dragon and knights in the building for defense. Defense of the buildings works like defense of the alliance fortress.
If an enemy building is empty it should be attacked even if there is no plan to hold the building. This will interrupt the enemy’s points for at least 3 minutes and distract their attention from elsewhere.
All buildings should be scouted prior to attack. All buildings should be periodically scouted.
Personal points MUST BE IGNORED. The rewards for personal points are not very good and while you earn personal points for being in a building and killing enemy troops, it is not a direct correlation to how the alliance earns points.
If you are going to fight in the AvA you must be willing to be unbubbled. Anyone placing troops into a building will not be able to bubble. Anyone who has most recently attacked and "holds" the building will not be able to bubble. If you are able please bubble, but remember you may need to periodically scout a building, which will require unbubbling. Treasure sites can be gathered from using 1 troop and you do not need to unbubble for them.
Additionally, we will be matched with another alliance based on the troop force of those members that sign up to fight. If you do not think you will be able to fight at the allotted time please do not sign up. If you sign up but something happens in Real Life, that is perfectly understandable, it happens to us all.
There are 10 buildings on the battlefield of different strategic and point values. Each building should have at least one alliance member assigned to it prior to battle. This member will either be responsible for attacking and holding the building with their dragon and knights, or they will be responsible for scouting and maybe 1-trooping as appropriate. If it has been determined that as an alliance we want to hold a building, it may be helpful to assign more than one member to the defense of that building.
Buildings should be prioritized based on points and location to other alliance held buildings. A member holding a building cannot port but may have troops available to reinforce either another building or a rally. By keeping buildings closer to each other we can hope to cut down on the overall cost of speeding troops.
As an alliance we will need to hold at least one of the higher point value buildings. It is currently unclear if the fighting buffs provided by the temple and church make them strategically important enough to hold given their lower point values.
Consideration should be given to camping troops. Either if you feel you are not strong enough to avoid being zeroed, or to have reinforcements late in the fight. Camps should be placed prior to the start of the battle.
If at all possible, a rally leader sized account should be kept in reserve for late fighting. They could be assigned a building that is not considered of strategic importance to monitor and harass.
All other fighting rules are the same. Use anti-scout, defense/offense buffs, march size increase, a battle elixir, only send T4 troops of the type requested when either helping in a rally or defense of a building.
